Environmental issues have been become popular starting in the 1900's.
This is what I am looking at...
The first Act I'll talk about is the Lacey Act, it was issued on May 25, 1900. This act regulates what types of plants and animals can be illegally taken out of state lines.
This is because of the mass killing and the beginning of extinction of animals in regions, being killed for fur.
I believe this act is effective because most of the animals being killed had to be brought out of whereever they came from to a business that would skin them, (I don't know the technical term), and then make them into clothing/accessories.
I am all for this Act because I am against hunting, and I think the number of animals that can be hunted should be regulated, and it is a concern to the habitat, every animal in a habitat has a purpose. Another reason for this is when a new species in introduced in a new habitat it has the potential to kill off the species that were already residing in that habitat. This is happening everywhere even in Maryland with these things called invasive species. Something else that I liked about this is that regulations on hunting seem stupid to me. It is known that hunting season is at the same time as mating season, can anyone explain how we expect these animals to reproduce if we are killing them at their time of conception?!
Do you think this act is effective?
