...I do not know about you but Palin is a very unofficial piece of turd used to make Mccain get female votes since Hillary did not get in. Palin has a new show on the Discovery channel,

I receive emails from defenders of wildlife and write letters constantly to people that they find disgusting or unhealthy to the world.
I really want to talk about the recent oil spills though. Not only is Palin wrong in her views on animals but so is Obama, as he talked about drilling for oil in Alaska. As we continue to drill for oil, we risk oil spills. For what? A non-renewable resource, when we could be putting our money towards new technology so that we will not have to worry about where to get our oil from, or who to kill to steal their oil. These cause our waters to be contaminated and can kill TONS of animals daily. People truly need to see how drilling for oil is not beneficial but is very detrimental. There was a recent spill in Mexico it takes tons of effort from local areas to help clean up the spill and clean the animals that were effected. I think these happenings are a calling or us to realize that we need to produce a different method of fuel.
Do you think drilling for non renewable resources is okay?

With all of the available and the developing technology for "green" resources such as wind and solar energy.. I definately disagree with our government continuing to spend money to drill for oil. Haven't we learned anything at all? The push for a green earth has been going on since the 60's. (But then people thought there was going to be an iceage instead of a melt down.) Another valid point I've been making with the "change" (not saying melt down or ice age or pole shift or any of the environmental theories are right...) but there is definatley something changing on this planet. The amount of deadly natural disasters in the last two years are higher than ever. Things are not ok... so I agree with you whole heartedly. But it's late.. I just got in from work and I'm venting because this oil spill has me on a rampage!
ReplyDeleteHonestly I have no idea. I know we have a lot of different resources but the problems that apparently some of them have is what is causing us to hesitate to change. But having looked at a gas price that is now 2.83 and the damage cost in cash and nature I am set for a new idea. How close are we to having a perfect source of energy we can use for vehicles instead of oil?
ReplyDeleteThey DO have the technology, it's proven. Hydrogen cars exist it is just a change that would effect tons of companies, and those companies have ALL the money...it is like us trying to take out high fructose corn syrup from our food, there is too much money invested.

Interesting post-- the Gulf oil spill is very disturbing in so many ways. My older daughter is a huge animal lover and it is so sad for me to see her realize how the BP oil spill is hurting animals in that region such as sea turtles, birds, fish, etc.
ReplyDeleteFrom a historical point-of-view, we've been down this road before - with trees. About a century or so, the logging industry had destroyed a tremendous amount of forest area in the eastern US-- places like Garrett Cty, Maryland. So -- conservationists were able to slow the industry and require measures like planting new trees for those chopped down.
So, how will our political leaders respond to this disaster? So far, Obama's plan for renewed oil drilling at sea (all the way to Delaware on the Atlantic coast, BTW) appears stalled now due to the Gulf spill. But, it may not go away -- to the chagrin of environmentalists who had counted on him as an ally in the White House.
Also worth noting: the original Earth Day in 1970 came about consequent to the disastrous oil spill from an offshore rig off the coast of Santa Barbara, California in 1969....
